This training teaches the concepts and tools of the Imago approach by Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt applied to the family — parents' imago, developmental stages, the mirroring-validation-empathy dialogue within the parental couple then with the children, the exercises — for a practitioner who supports families, without issuing any Imago certification et without training family therapists.
For practitioners and future practitioners in complementary therapies, support work, mediation or parental guidance, who receive parents, couples with children or families and want a structured, safe and honest dialogue. No prerequisites.
An approach to couples formalised in the 1980s and extended to parenting by its authors. It is widely practised; studies evaluating it exist but remain limited, and its family extension is little evaluated. The training states this from the very first module, attributes each concept to its authors, and never uses the titles of « Imago therapist » or « family therapist ».
The backbone of the entire training: no dialogue between an abuser and their victim, no exercises involving adults with a real child, no substitute for psychological, pediatric or psychiatric follow-up, and child protection above all. Violence, abuse, coercive control, distress: the training teaches how to refer without delay, and an entire module is devoted to it.
